Formation & Education
The formation of the members of the Institute runs in two arms; initial and ongoing formation. While the initial formation begins with Postulancy, through the Novitiate, and terminates with theological training in the seminary, the ongoing formation includes but not limited to seminars, conferences and further studies in both ecclesiastical and secular programs. For efficiency and effectiveness in formation, which is one of the positions of Pope St. John Paul II in Pastores Dabo Vobis, the Institute has established Postulate, Novitiate, and Scholasticate Houses for an integral formation; there is also, a director for priests’ ongoing formation.
Fr. Modestus Ihediuche
Councilor for Formation and education
Currently, we have our seminarians in the following seminaries:
1. Bigard Memorial Major Seminary, Enugu, Enugu State Nigeria
2. Blessed Iwene Tansi Major Seminary, Onitsha, Anambra State Nigeria
3. St. Joseph Major Seminary, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State Nigeria
4. Pope St. John Paul II Major Seminary, Awka, Anambra State Nigeria
Presently, some of our priests have been engaged in education of the young ones through primary and secondary schools’ apostolate. This is considered one of the means of executing the Institute’s esteemed youth apostolate. However, financial resources remain for us a limiting factor.
