Vocation

Vocation to the Religious Life

Every baptized person is called to holiness, which means living in close relationship with God and embodying Christian virtues in everyday life. Beyond the universal call to holiness, each indidual has a specific vocation. This could be to the priesthood, religious life, marriage, or single life. Each path is a unique way to serve God and others.

The vocation to the religious life is a calling from God to dedicate one’s life to serving Him and the Church through a life of prayer, community, and service.

Rev. Fr. Joseph Chibuzor Okakpu, HFFBY
Vocation Director

This calling involves committing to the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, and often includes living in a religious community with others who share the same commitment. Priests and Brothers in our Institute devote themselves to their personal sanctification and salvation through the observance of the evangelical counsels. “The Secondary aim of our Institute is Youth Apostolate- a rescue programme for the youth so as to assist them live according to the Gospel message- a life that will guarantee the youth sanctification and salvation of its members and thus make the present and future generation holy and God-fearing nations and peoples”. (Culled from the Constitutions of the Holy Family Fathers and Brothers of the Youth)
